“Through Education One Can Have All Happiness In Life” - Pujya Bhaishri
Today in India, due to a lack of secondary schools and colleges, only 31% of children complete education up to the 10th grade.
In the village of Devka and nearby villages in Saurashtra, Gujarat, children have no access to school after the 7th grade and hence cannot pursue further education.
With the aim of providing secondary and college education, the Devka Vidyapeeth project has been undertaken by Shri Vraj Bhagirathi Charitable Trust (VBCT) which is led by Pujya Bhaishri. Pujya Bhaishri is also the inspirer and advisor for Vidya Vikas Charitable Trust (VVCT) USA who is supporting the Devka Vidyapeeth project. Numerous individuals and organizations from around the world have also pledged their support to the Devka Vidyapeeth project.
Devka Vidyapeeth is a school with a capacity for over 1,400 children and state of the art facilities to give the children of Devka and nearby villages the opportunity to pursue Primary, Secondary, Higher Secondary education and Graduation in modern streams.
Devka Vidyapeeth complex will be built over 20 acres of land with modern infrastructure and facilities including well equipped class rooms, science laboratories, computer centres, and libraries. In addition, the school will have international accreditation to conform modern education system and syllabi. Playgrounds of half Olympic standards are planned to host athletic events and sports competitions.
Our goal is to complete the Devka high school by 2010.
